**TIRUPATI, Andhra Pradesh –** The Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) University will launch the Sri Balaji Institute of Oncology (Sri Bio) within two months, its Director and Vice-Chancellor R.V. Kumar announced on Wednesday. The new institute, celebrating SVIMS’ 32nd foundation day, will focus heavily on cancer research and aims to become a leading institution in the state.
Dr. Kumar highlighted SVIMS’ collaborations with prestigious institutions like IIT, IISER, Aravind Eye Hospital, and several UK universities for knowledge and infrastructure sharing. The university also plans to introduce postgraduate programs in ophthalmology, dentistry, and ENT.
At the foundation day ceremony, the annual report, ‘Akanksha 2025’, was presented, and awards were given to outstanding medical professionals and students. Several deans and college principals were in attendance.
