**Belagavi, Karnataka – February 27, 2025** – The festival of Mahashivaratri was observed with great devotion across Karnataka on Wednesday, February 26th. Thousands of devotees participated in religious observances, including fasting, temple visits, and evening devotional singing (bhajans).
In Belagavi, long queues formed outside several prominent Shiva temples, including Sri Kapileshwar temple in Shahapur, Siddeshwar temples in Kanabargi and Kakati, the Shiva temple at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and the Military Mahadev temple. Many temples distributed traditional sweets and laddus to worshippers. A grand chariot festival was also held at the Veerabhadreshwar temple within the Police Headquarters. The celebrations reflected the widespread religious enthusiasm for the festival throughout the region.
