**Kozhikode, Kerala – February 27, 2025** – Sarath Sreedharan, an assistant professor of computer science at Colorado State University and a native of Payyoli, Kozhikode, has been named one of “AI’s 10 to Watch” by IEEE Intelligent Systems. The prestigious international award recognizes his groundbreaking work on human-aware artificial intelligence systems.

Sreedharan’s research focuses on translating human beliefs, behaviors, and ethics into AI algorithms, addressing crucial challenges like explainability and value alignment. His work includes in-depth studies on understanding AI decision-making processes and achieving alignment with human values.

The IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization, selected Sreedharan from a global pool of young scientists. His research is conducted through the Human-Aware Planning and Interaction Lab (HAPIL) at CSU, where he collaborates with industry partners and leverages National Science Foundation grants to develop AI systems for diverse applications, from daily tasks to supporting bee conservation.

Sreedharan, an alumnus of Cochin University of Science and Technology (BTech in Computer Science), joined CSU in 2022 and has quickly established himself as a leading figure in the field of human-aware AI.
