Wed Feb 26 08:40:00 UTC 2025: ## NYT’s Popular Word Game “Connections” Baffles and Delights Players

**New York, NY** – The New York Times’ latest word game, Connections, is taking the internet by storm. Similar in format to the wildly popular Wordle, Connections challenges players to identify common themes among groups of four words. The game, created in part by NYT associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, is available on web browsers and mobile devices.

Each daily puzzle presents 16 words, divided into four color-coded categories (yellow, green, blue, and purple, with difficulty increasing by color). Players must correctly identify the four words in each category to clear the board. They have a maximum of four incorrect guesses. Players can rearrange the words to aid in finding connections.

The game’s popularity has led to a surge in social media sharing, with players boasting their successes (and commiserating over failures). Today’s puzzle, Connections #625, proved particularly challenging for some. The categories and solutions were:

* **Enthusiasm:** GUSTO, PASSION, RELISH, ZEST
* **Many in Different Languages:** BEAUCOUP, MOLTO, MUCHO, MULTI
* **Rectangular Prisms:** BRICK, FISH TANK, MICROWAVE, SHOEBOX
* **Rhyme with U.S. Coins:** JENNY, LIME, MORTAR, PICKLE

For those struggling, hints and tips are readily available online. The NYT itself offers clues and strategies to help players overcome the daily brain teaser. A new Connections puzzle is released daily at midnight.
