Wed Feb 26 06:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Kumail Nanjiani Returns to Stand-Up After Decade-Long Hiatus with Hulu Special
**Los Angeles, CA** – Emmy and Oscar-nominated actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani is returning to his stand-up roots with a new comedy special exclusively for Hulu. This will mark Nanjiani’s second stand-up special and his first in over a decade, following his 2013 Comedy Central special, “Beta Male.”
The upcoming Hulu special, currently untitled and with a release date yet to be announced, will see Nanjiani serve as an executive producer alongside Elan Gale and Bernie Schaeffer. ITV America and TheYearOfElan are producing.
Nanjiani’s return to stand-up is a significant addition to Hulu’s growing comedy lineup under its “Hularious” banner, which has recently featured specials from Jim Gaffigan, Ilana Glazer, and Roy Wood Jr., with several more in the works. Since his last stand-up special, Nanjiani has enjoyed a prolific acting career, starring in shows like HBO’s “Silicon Valley” and Hulu’s “Welcome to Chippendales,” as well as films including “The Big Sick” (for which he received an Oscar nomination for writing) and “Eternals.” He also hosted Comedy Central’s “The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail.”
