Wed Feb 26 16:06:26 UTC 2025: **Kerala Launches Project Consultancy Wing to Empower Women Entrepreneurs**
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, February 26, 2025 – The Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC) announced plans to establish a new project consultancy wing aimed at boosting women’s entrepreneurship in the state. The initiative addresses the challenges faced by women and transgender individuals in starting and sustaining businesses, particularly the lack of support and guidance.
The consultancy will offer comprehensive services, including market research, financial planning, legal guidance, marketing strategies, and ongoing mentorship. It will partner with organizations like Kudumbashree to provide expertise in various areas. Services will be offered at a small fee, with free assistance available for financially disadvantaged individuals.
The wing will operate through three key programs: an entrepreneurship development committee (EDC), a skill enhancement intervention program (SEIP), and a holistic mentoring program. The EDC will guide entrepreneurs through the entire process, from identifying a project to securing funding and branding. SEIP will provide customized training and business plan development. The holistic mentoring program will connect entrepreneurs with a network of support organizations across the state.
The KSWDC aims to support 100 women-led businesses in their growth during the first year. An advisory board of successful women entrepreneurs will provide mentorship, and regular exhibitions will showcase the products of participating businesses. This initiative is a significant step towards empowering women and addressing unemployment in Kerala.
