**Mumbai, India** – The Indian stock market will be closed on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, for the Mahashivratri festival. This is the first of 18 stock market holidays scheduled for 2025. Trading will be suspended on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for equities, equity derivatives, and SLB segments. The currency derivatives segment will also be closed. However, the commodity market will operate from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
The closure comes amidst two weeks of volatility in the Indian market.
