**Bengaluru, India** – IT giant Infosys launched an open-source “Responsible AI” toolkit on Wednesday, aiming to address ethical concerns and risks associated with artificial intelligence deployment. The initiative, part of the Infosys Topaz Responsible AI Suite, provides businesses with tools to mitigate risks such as privacy breaches, security threats, biased outputs, harmful content, and copyright violations. The toolkit also tackles emerging challenges like misinformation and deepfakes.
The toolkit’s features include enhanced transparency in AI-generated outputs, helping businesses understand AI decision-making processes without compromising performance or user experience. Its open-source nature ensures flexibility, ease of implementation, and customizability for various AI models and business needs. Compatibility with cloud and on-premise systems allows for seamless integration.
Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), praised the initiative, stating it will significantly contribute to improving security, privacy, safety, explainability, and fairness in AI solutions. He highlighted the toolkit’s benefit for startups and AI developers in mitigating algorithmic bias.

Sunil Abraham of Meta added that open-source code and datasets are crucial for empowering a wide range of AI innovators and ensuring responsible AI development benefits everyone.
