**Karur, Tamil Nadu –** Five people died in a car crash on the Karur-Tiruchi highway near Kulithalai early Wednesday morning. A state-owned transport bus collided with a car carrying the five victims, all of whom were killed instantly.
The deceased were identified as Selvaraj (50), his wife Kalaiarasi (45), their daughter Akalya (25), Arun (22), and Vishnu (24). The family, traveling from Coimbatore, were on their way to a temple in Orathanadu. The bus was traveling from Aranthangi to Tiruppur.
Police and fire rescue services responded to the scene, recovering the bodies and transporting them to Kulithalai Government Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Collector M. Thangavel and Superintendent of Police K. Feroze Khan Abdullah visited the accident site. The Kulithalai police have initiated an investigation and registered a case.
