**ERODE, TAMIL NADU –** The Erode Corporation has initiated a large-scale cleaning operation across all 60 wards of the city. The initiative, which began Tuesday, involves deploying 60 conservancy workers per ward to desilt drains, clear bushes, and clean roads.
The corporation plans a phased approach, targeting two wards per zone weekly, for a total of eight wards across the city’s four zones. Wards 24, 30, 36, and 52 have already been completed.
Corporation Commissioner H.S. Srikanth inspected the ongoing work and urged residents to actively participate by segregating waste and avoiding banned plastic items. He stressed the importance of shared responsibility in maintaining city cleanliness.
