Wed Feb 26 14:53:34 UTC 2025: ## BJP-JD(S) Alliance Meets Amidst BJP Internal Turmoil

**Bengaluru, February 26, 2025** – A meeting between leaders of the BJP and JD(S) in Bengaluru focused on strategies for the upcoming Budget session of the Karnataka legislature, beginning March 3rd. However, the gathering was overshadowed by internal strife within the BJP, a matter reportedly raised by JD(S) leaders.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy urged BJP leaders to resolve their internal differences to present a united front against the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah. He emphasized the need for a cohesive opposition, suggesting that the BJP’s internal struggles hinder their effectiveness. Kumaraswamy advised focusing on concrete evidence of government misdeeds rather than unsubstantiated allegations. He noted that internal dissent is a challenge for all parties, including the JD(S).

The meeting, attended by key figures from both parties including BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra and former Chief Ministers Basavaraj Bommai and D.V. Sadananda Gowda, aimed to coordinate their attack on the Congress government. Leader of Opposition R. Ashok stated that the alliance will address issues such as rising communal clashes, the government’s response to microfinance-related deaths, irregularities in the KPSC exam, and farmer suicides. Ashok downplayed the BJP’s internal conflict, suggesting the situation will improve following the election of a new state president.
