**New Delhi, February 26, 2025** – A Delhi court granted anticipatory bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan on Tuesday. Khan is accused of leading a mob that attacked a Delhi Police team in Jamia Nagar on February 10th, allegedly helping a proclaimed offender escape custody.

The Delhi Police had sought Khan’s custody for questioning, presenting CCTV footage and witness statements as evidence. However, the court, citing a previous anticipatory bail order for the escaped offender dating back to July 2018, deemed the allegations against Khan regarding the escape insufficient to warrant his arrest. While granting bail, the court directed Mr. Khan to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
