**Bengaluru, February 26, 2025** – Ahead of the upcoming Karnataka legislature session beginning March 3rd, the BJP and JD(S) opposition parties held a joint meeting in Bengaluru on Tuesday to strategize a united front against the ruling government. The meeting, led by Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok, included prominent figures such as Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, former Chief Ministers Basavaraj Bommai and D.V. Sadananda Gowda, and BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra.
The parties plan to jointly address several key issues during the session, including a rise in communal clashes and alleged government inaction, continued deaths among the poor despite an anti-microfinance ordinance, irregularities in the KPSC examination, and farmer suicides. Mr. Ashok stated that both parties will work together to highlight these alleged government failures and irregularities. He downplayed internal BJP conflicts, suggesting these would be resolved following the party’s state president election. The united opposition aims to hold the government accountable for these issues during the upcoming legislative proceedings.
