Wed Feb 26 06:46:46 UTC 2025: **New Hyderabad Flyover Opens to Mixed Reception**
HYDERABAD, TELANGANA – A new ₹338-crore, 1.7-kilometer flyover connecting Golnaka and Amberpet opened to the public on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Officially inaugurated by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, the four-lane structure is intended to alleviate traffic congestion on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway.
However, the flyover’s opening has been met with a mixed reception. While the flyover itself offers a smoother commute for some, many drivers are still navigating the chaotic, pothole-ridden road below. Frustration remains high among commuters, particularly those traveling from Ramanthapur to Amberpet, who face ongoing bottlenecks and congestion on the older roadway.
Local shop owners and vendors also expressed skepticism, questioning the necessity of the flyover project and suggesting that road widening would have been a more effective and less costly solution. Despite the new infrastructure, significant traffic problems persist on the ground level, leaving the overall impact of the project currently unclear.
