**Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu:** The Maha Shivaratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore are underway, drawing thousands of devotees from across India and abroad. The event has attracted celebrities from various fields and international attendees.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Coimbatore on a special flight from Delhi last night to participate in the festivities. He was received with full state honours. This morning, he inaugurated a newly constructed BJP office in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, before meeting with BJP officials.
Later in the evening, Shah travelled to the Isha Yoga Center and joined the ongoing celebrations. He offered special prayers and performed a pooja at the massive Adiyogi Shiva statue. He is scheduled to spend the night at the guest house within the Isha Yoga Center. Tomorrow morning, he will depart from Coimbatore via helicopter to catch a flight to Uttar Pradesh.
Over 7,000 police personnel have been deployed across Coimbatore city and district to ensure tight security during the Minister’s visit.
