**Dehradun, Uttarakhand:** The dates for the annual Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand have been officially announced. Kedarnath temple, one of the four sacred sites, will open its doors to pilgrims on May 2nd at 7:00 AM. This was declared Wednesday by Vijay Prasad Thpaliyal, CEO of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee.
The auspicious opening date for Kedarnath was determined during a special ceremony at the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, involving religious leaders and Vedic scholars. The ceremony included Kedarnath’s chief priest, Raval Bhimshankara Ling, local MLA Asha Nautiyal, temple committee officials, and hundreds of devotees.
Gangotri and Yamunotri, the sources of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers respectively, will open on April 30th, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya. Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, will open on May 4th.
Millions of devotees undertake the Char Dham Yatra annually, visiting Kedarnath (dedicated to Lord Shiva), Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The Uttarakhand government and temple committee are working to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience for all visitors.
