Tue Feb 25 10:28:03 UTC 2025: ## Erode Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Child Sexual Assault

**ERODE, Tamil Nadu, February 25, 2025** – A 24-year-old daily wage worker, S. Sheik Sadam Hussain, has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by a Fast Track Mahila Court in Erode for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in 2021. The court also handed down a six-month sentence for trespassing, with both sentences to run concurrently. A fine of ₹6,000 was imposed.

According to the prosecution, Hussain trespassed into the victim’s home on March 14, 2021, and sexually assaulted her. He then kidnapped and assaulted her again on April 14, 2021. The girl’s parents filed a complaint with the All Women Police Station in Erode, leading to Hussain’s arrest and charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, as well as kidnapping and trespassing. Judge C. Sornakumar presided over the case. Hussain is currently incarcerated at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
