**Hyderabad, February 25, 2025** – A record-breaking blood donation camp organized by the Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) in Hyderabad saw 1,955 individuals donate blood on Monday. The event, held at Kings Palace, received significant support from Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, who presented certificates to donors. The collected blood will be crucial for Thalassemia patients requiring regular transfusions.
TSCS officials highlighted the urgent need for preventative measures, appealing to MLA Owaisi to advocate for a government order mandating antenatal HbA2 tests for all pregnant women. This test is vital in preventing the birth of children with Thalassemia. The society’s joint secretary, M.A. Aleem Baig, and staff played key roles in the successful execution of the camp.
