Vijayawada, February 25, 2025 – Former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan was questioned by Patamata police on Tuesday in connection with the alleged kidnapping and coercion of a computer operator, M. Satyavardhan. Satyavardhan, who worked at the Gannavaram TDP office, had filed a complaint with NTR Police alleging that Vamsi kidnapped him and forced him to withdraw a Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act case against the former MLA.
Vamsi was arrested several days prior and remanded to Vijayawada district jail. The Patamata police obtained a three-day custody order from the SC/ST Court to question him. During Tuesday’s interrogation, police focused on the circumstances of the alleged kidnapping, the involvement of others, the reasons for the crime, Satyavardhan’s whereabouts during his detention, and the nature of the threats issued. Medical examinations were conducted on Vamsi before and after the questioning. The NTR Commissionerate police are also investigating Satyavardhan’s statement regarding the withdrawal of the court case. The investigation is ongoing.
