**Bhagalpur, Bihar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav during a rally in Bhagalpur, Bihar on Monday, indirectly accusing him of hindering farmer welfare. Without naming Yadav, Modi stated that those who “ate fodder meant for animals cannot change the conditions of farmers,” referencing Yadav’s conviction in the fodder scam. The Prime Minister’s remarks came during the launch of the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

Modi contrasted the current state of Bihar’s farmers with the past, crediting the NDA government’s policies for improvements and highlighting the direct transfer of funds through PM-KISAN. He further emphasized the increase in agricultural exports and the budget’s provisions for Bihar’s Makhana (foxnuts) production.

RJD MP Manoj Jha criticized Modi’s comments, suggesting the Prime Minister’s rhetoric intensifies during election periods. Jha called for concrete action instead of rhetoric, urging Modi to grant Bihar special state status, mirroring the support given to Gujarat.

The rally saw Modi arrive in a dramatic fashion, making an impromptu roadshow with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accompanied by enthusiastic crowds chanting “Modi! Modi!” The event showcased the strong alliance between the BJP and JDU ahead of potential future elections.
