**Mumbai, India** – Indian stock exchanges, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will be closed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in observance of Maha Shivratri, a major Hindu festival. This marks the first trading holiday of 2025. Trading in equities, derivatives, and commodities will be suspended for the day.
The closure affects all market segments. Banks in numerous states, including Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh, will also be closed.
