**LOS ANGELES –** Paramount+ announced today that the critically acclaimed film “September 5,” a gripping portrayal of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, will begin streaming on the platform on February 25th in the United States and Canada.
The film, directed by Tim Fehlbaum and nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar, recounts the harrowing events of the Munich Olympics where members of the Palestinian group Black September took Israeli athletes hostage. The narrative follows a young ABC Sports producer, Geoff (John Magaro), as he and his colleagues grapple with the immediate shift from sports broadcasting to live coverage of the unfolding tragedy. The film highlights the technological challenges of live broadcasting in 1972, juxtaposed against the intense human drama and moral dilemmas faced by those involved.
