The track, featured on the deluxe edition of Hudson’s debut album “Glorious,” released February 21st, details Hawn’s struggles and triumphs before achieving stardom.

Hudson revealed in an interview with the *Los Angeles Times* that the song’s lyrics, including lines like “Truck stop baby, won’t you dance for me,” accurately depict her mother’s early career performing at New Jersey truck stops. She also recounted Hawn’s resourceful journey, driving a dilapidated Cadillac with holes in the floor hundreds of miles to dance class, wrapping her feet to endure the freezing temperatures.

The song, co-written with Linda Perry, unexpectedly emerged during a studio session. Hudson began playing the piano, and Perry, upon returning from a phone call, recognized the emotional depth of the impromptu composition.
