NEW YORK, NY – February 7, 2025 – January 2025 late-night television ratings saw a mixed bag, with significant gains for some shows fueled by Donald Trump’s return to office and NFL games, while others experienced declines. Greg Gutfeld’s show on Fox News saw the most dramatic increase, boosted by record-breaking inauguration week viewership, experiencing a 27% jump in total viewers and a 40% surge among the coveted 18-49 demographic.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC also enjoyed a ratings boost, up 16% overall, largely attributed to the airing of Monday Night Football. Despite these gains, Kimmel remained in second place behind Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, which, although showing slight declines (-2% total viewers, -7% in the 18-49 demo), continues to hold the largest audience share.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon saw a 2% drop in total viewers but an 11% increase in the 18-49 demographic. In the late-late night slot, Seth Meyers’ Late Night held the top spot, despite a slight dip in total viewers, while Nightline and After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson split second place. Production delays on After Midnight due to the Los Angeles wildfires impacted its performance.
Both Watch What Happens Live and The Daily Show reported positive gains across all measured metrics. The complete January 2025 Nielsen ratings are available on LateNighter. The data includes only first-run episodes.
