Mon Feb 24 21:17:00 UTC 2025: ## India to Host Major Circular Economy Conference in Jaipur
**New Delhi, February 25, 2025** – India will host the 12th Regional 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) and Circular Economy Conference in Jaipur from March 3-5, Union Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced Monday. The conference, themed “Realizing Circular Societies Towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Carbon Neutrality in Asia-Pacific,” is expected to draw over 500 international and domestic participants.
The three-day event will feature plenary sessions, country-specific discussions, and roundtables, along with technical field visits to Jaipur’s waste management facilities and heritage sites. A dedicated India Pavilion will showcase the nation’s initiatives in the 3R and circular economy, highlighting its commitment to sustainable development, including successful waste management strategies employed during the Maha Kumbh.
An international 3R trade and technology exhibition will also be held, featuring over 40 Indian and Japanese businesses and startups. The conference will conclude with the adoption of the ‘Jaipur Declaration,’ outlining a path towards a resource-efficient circular economy in the Asia-Pacific region. The declaration will then be passed on to the next host country.
Launched by the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) in 2009, the forum aims to provide policy guidance and facilitate the sharing of best practices in the Asia-Pacific region. India previously hosted the event in Indore in 2018. Cambodia hosted the last forum in 2023.
