**Hyderabad, February 25, 2025** – Rachakonda police have arrested eleven individuals, including alleged “customers,” in connection with an inter-state child trafficking ring, rescuing four infants in the process. The operation, a collaborative effort between the Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT) and Chaitanyapuri police, uncovered a network that sold babies for ₹1.5 lakh to ₹4.8 lakh each.

The gang, led by Kola Krishnaveni, allegedly procured infants from a supplier in Ahmedabad via social media. Krishnaveni, along with accomplices, transported the infants to Hyderabad and sold them to families in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The operation, which followed a tip-off, resulted in the arrest of Krishnaveni, Battu Deepthi, Goutham Savithri Devi, Battu Sravan Kumar, Amgoth Sharada, and Buddihi Sampath Kumar, along with a couple from Vijayawada, another from Saidabad, and a man from Mahabubabad.

Police seized eleven mobile phones and ₹5,000 in cash. The rescued infants, two girls and two boys, ranged in age from just four days old. Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu stated that a team is being sent to Ahmedabad to apprehend the main supplier. Investigations are ongoing to identify further individuals involved in the trafficking ring.

Krishnaveni, a BSc Biochemistry graduate, had previously been arrested in 2024 on similar charges. Police urged citizens seeking to adopt children to follow legal procedures and avoid illegal agents. Those arrested face charges under the Juvenile Justice Act.
