**Hyderabad, February 25, 2025** – Avantel, a strategic communication products firm, has won a significant ₹43.25 crore contract from NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The contract involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of 45,252 communication devices for Xponder, a system designed to enhance security in India’s coastal regions. These devices will be deployed on marine fishing vessels to improve monitoring, control, and surveillance capabilities.
The project, scheduled for completion by August, builds upon Avantel’s previous collaborations with NSIL. The company previously secured orders for 26,743 Xponder units and the establishment of a ground segment hub for the Vessel Communication and Support System. This latest order further strengthens Avantel’s position in providing communication solutions for maritime safety and efficiency, according to Director Siddhartha Abburi.
Avantel specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced communication products, radar systems, and network management software, primarily serving the aerospace and defense sectors. This contract represents a substantial contribution to bolstering India’s maritime security and improving operational efficiency within the fisheries sector.
