Tue Feb 25 05:47:35 UTC 2025: ## Local Youths Foil ATM Robbery Attempt in Kurnool
**Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, February 25, 2025** – Quick-thinking villagers thwarted an ATM robbery attempt late Sunday night in Chinnatekur village, Kurnool district. A group of three to four individuals attempted to steal a Bank of Baroda ATM using a tow truck. However, alert youngsters noticed the suspicious activity around 1:30 a.m. and immediately contacted the Ulindakonda police sub-inspector, Dhanunjay.
The offenders, upon being discovered, fled the scene abandoning both the ATM and the stolen tow truck, which police have traced back to Kurnool city. Police are investigating, reviewing CCTV footage from the area, and suspecting an interstate gang may be involved. The perpetrators had cut power and CCTV connections before attempting to forcibly remove the ATM.
Kurnool Deputy Superintendent of Police J. Babu Prasad and other officials commended the villagers, M. Mahesh, Shaik Ilyas, Dilawar Shaik Abdul Rahman, and M. Hanef Basha, for their bravery and assistance in foiling the robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
