**Prayagraj, India** – Approximately 15,000 sanitation workers in Prayagraj, India, participated in a synchronized cleanliness drive on Monday in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record. The ambitious attempt, overseen by a Guinness World Records supervisory team from London, involved workers across four zones of the city. Each worker wore a wristband with a unique scannable code for accurate counting.
The event was witnessed by Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani and Mahakumbh’s Special Executive Officer Akanksha Rana. Chief supervisor and judge Rishi Nath from Guinness World Records confirmed the attempt. The final verification and announcement of the record are expected within three days.
This attempt follows a previous Guinness World Record achieved during the 2019 Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where 10,000 sanitation workers participated in a similar synchronized cleaning effort. Mayor Kesarwani hailed the event as a powerful message promoting cleanliness, while Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma lauded the sanitation workers as the “true heroes” behind the success of the Maha Kumbh, praising their tireless efforts in maintaining cleanliness during the massive religious gathering.
