**Mangaluru, February 25, 2025** – M.N. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of the South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank (SCDCC), marked his 76th birthday on Monday by donating wheelchairs, disability aids, and cash to 76 needy individuals. The event, held at the SCDCC bank premises, saw the distribution of these much-needed resources.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kumar highlighted the growth of the cooperative sector in the region, crediting its strong foundation to Molahalli Shiva Rao. He emphasized his commitment to empowering the poor and oppressed.

MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta lauded Mr. Kumar’s leadership, noting the bank’s impressive business exceeding ₹15,000 crore under his chairmanship. He urged Mr. Kumar to continue his social welfare initiatives. Other dignitaries in attendance included former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, Mangaluru City North MLA Y. Bharath Shetty, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, and Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union president Sucharita Shetty.

The event also included a felicitation ceremony for the Mangaluru City Police team who successfully solved the robbery at the Kotekar Vyvasaya Seva Sahakari Bank on January 17th.
