**CHENNAI, February 24, 2025** – Chennai police have made significant strides in their crackdown on drug trafficking, arresting four individuals and seizing a substantial amount of narcotics in two separate operations over the weekend.
In a continuation of an ongoing investigation into a cocaine trafficking network, the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit and Choolaimedu police arrested two more suspects, S. Waran Grake Kani (28) and S. Surendran (35), bringing the total number of arrests in that case to 16. This follows the January 25th arrest of two initial suspects and the subsequent apprehension of 12 others. The police seized 59.93 grams of cocaine, 1.15 kilograms of ganja, ganja oil, and 14 mobile phones during the course of the investigation.
Separately, police apprehended R. Vignesh (22) and A. Harinath (22) near Kader Nawaz Khan Road in Nungambakkam. A search of their vehicle revealed 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, resulting in their arrest.
Police investigations into both cases are ongoing.
