(AP) —** The SMU Mustangs dominated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday night, securing a resounding 97-73 victory and improving their road record to 6-1 in their inaugural ACC season. The Mustangs’ offensive efficiency was a key factor, shooting a blistering 72% in the first half alone, building a commanding 50-25 lead by halftime.
Kario Oquendo led the SMU charge with a game-high 25 points, a near-perfect performance in the first half (6-for-6 from the field, including two three-pointers). Matt Cross contributed 14 points and nine rebounds, while Samet Yigitoglu and Chuck Harris also scored 14 and 11 points respectively, showcasing a balanced offensive attack.
