CHARLOTTE, NC – The Carolina Panthers announced Friday they will not be re-signing veteran linebacker Shaq Thompson, allowing him to enter free agency. Thompson, 30, a first-round pick in 2015 and a team captain for five seasons, has been hampered by injuries over the past two years, limiting his playing time to just six games.
Despite his injury struggles, Thompson leaves a significant mark on the franchise, ranking fourth all-time in tackles with 752.
