**Bhagalpur, Bihar (February 24, 2025)** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme today, transferring ₹22,000 crore to approximately 9.8 crore farmers across India. Each beneficiary will receive ₹2,000. The disbursement, described as a pre-Holi gift, will take place during an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar, where the Prime Minister is currently on a visit.
Launched in 2020, the PM-Kisan scheme aims to address the financial needs of farmers. A centrally-funded scheme, it provides ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000, deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible landholding farmers. The scheme requires Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts for disbursement.
Farmers can check their beneficiary status and payment history on the official PM Kisan website, pmkisan.gov.in, by entering their Aadhaar number or account number. The website also provides instructions for completing the e-KYC process, which is mandatory for all registered beneficiaries. This involves accessing the ‘Farmers Corner’ section of the website, selecting the e-KYC option, entering the Aadhaar number, and verifying with an OTP.
