Anil, the victim, was returning home from work when he encountered the elephant, which trampled him to death.
The incident, which occurred near Arehalli Police Station, prompted a renewed outcry from residents of Belur, Alur, and Sakaleshpur taluks who are demanding the capture of the rogue elephants.
