**HYDERABAD, INDIA (February 24, 2025)** – The Leela Palace in Hyderabad is currently hosting Le Cirque, a renowned culinary experience showcasing a theatrical fusion of French and Italian haute cuisine. Chef Vashisht Ajit Kumar, a culinary artist with extensive experience at top hotels across India and international collaborations, is leading this two-week festival.
Chef Kumar, whose passion for food stemmed from his childhood observations of his mother’s cooking, specializes in Franco-Italian cuisine. His unconventional career path, despite initial family reservations, has led him to success, including being featured in the “World’s 50 Best Discoveries” list.
Le Cirque, meaning “the circus” in French, offers a unique dining experience emphasizing presentation and communal sharing. Dishes include truffle butter, roasted beetroot and burrata risotto with 24-karat gold dust, and hand-cut fresh black truffle fettuccine. The menu has been adapted for the Indian palate, incorporating the concept of “sharing plates” to encourage conversation and a convivial atmosphere.
Chef Kumar’s dedication to culinary excellence is evident in his pursuit of constant feedback and his ongoing learning, including currently studying French to enhance his culinary vocabulary. The festival, which runs until March 2nd, promises a memorable dining experience, culminating in a dramatic tiramisu dessert. Le Cirque is open for dinner Monday-Thursday and for lunch and dinner Friday-Sunday.
