Sun Feb 23 20:48:09 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad to Build New Metro Line Connecting Airport to Future City

**Hyderabad, Telangana, India – February 24, 2025** – Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) announced plans to construct a 40-kilometer metro line connecting Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) to the planned Future City. The project will include two major stations at Bahadurguda and Pedda Golconda, facilitating development of approximately 1,500 acres of government land.

The route will begin at the airport terminal, traversing alongside the proposed metro depot and airport boundary before reaching Pedda Golconda. From there, an elevated line will continue along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Tukkuguda and Raviryala. The line will then transition to an at-grade corridor, running through several villages to reach the Skill University at Meerkhanpet. This section will utilize a 100-meter wide greenfield road, with the metro occupying the central 22-meter section.

The project aims to provide a 40-minute commute between the RGIA and Future City. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision for green corridors and improved accessibility to the 15,000-acre Future City development, which will connect Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad, is central to the plan.

HAML, collaborating with HMDA and other agencies, will finalize detailed project reports (DPRs) for the Future City Metro Corridor, along with lines to North City Medchal and Shamirpet, by the end of March. These DPRs will then be submitted to the central government for approval. Existing infrastructure projects, such as the ORR and the first phase of the metro rail, are expected to contribute to the project’s success.
