Sun Feb 23 19:01:31 UTC 2025: ## Puducherry BJP Leader Accuses Ruling Party of Mismanagement and Profligate Spending

**Puducherry, February 24, 2025** – Former BJP State president V. Saminathan launched a scathing attack on the Puducherry government led by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, accusing it of squandering public funds while neglecting social infrastructure. Saminathan cited an RTI response revealing that Cabinet Ministers spent ₹28 lakh on tea and ₹41 lakh on bouquets over the past four years. He also highlighted a monthly fuel bill of ₹80,000 per government vehicle, questioning the expenditure in a city the size of Puducherry.

Saminathan argued that this profligate spending contrasts sharply with the government’s alleged inability to adequately fund essential social services. He drew a parallel between the AINRC government and its Congress predecessor, criticizing both for their mismanagement of public resources and burdening citizens with tax increases.

The BJP leader predicted that the 2026 elections will serve as a referendum on the current administration’s financial practices, suggesting that the recent Delhi election results foreshadow a similar outcome in Puducherry. He called for voters to punish those implicated in alleged corruption. Despite the BJP’s presence in the NDA government, Saminathan focused his criticism solely on the AINRC and its leader.
