Mon Feb 24 10:10:49 UTC 2025: **Rahul Gandhi Defamation Case Adjourned**

Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh – February 24, 2025 – A special MP/MLA court in Sultanpur adjourned the defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi until March 6th. The case, filed in 2018 by BJP politician Rajesh Mishra, stems from an allegedly objectionable remark made by Mr. Gandhi about Home Minister Amit Shah during the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections.

Mr. Gandhi’s lawyer attributed the adjournment to the absence of the complainant’s lawyer. The court had previously heard the cross-examination of the complainant on February 11th. Mr. Gandhi, who pleaded not guilty and claimed the case is politically motivated, has been involved in multiple proceedings over the past five years, including securing bail in February 2024. He finally completed recording his statement in July 2024.
