**CHITTOOR, Andhra Pradesh, February 24, 2025** – Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar on Monday pledged to address numerous grievances raised by tribal communities at a public forum. Residents from several mandals, including Tavanampalle, Chowdepalle, Gudipala, and Bangarupalem, attended the forum held at the new Spandana Hall in the Collectorate.

Key concerns included land encroachments, lack of land titles, illegal occupation of agricultural lands, and inadequate power supply. Specific complaints included alleged harassment by forest officials against families cultivating land for generations in Krishnapuram ST hamlet (Tavanampalle mandal), harassment of agricultural laborers over a seven-acre assigned land in Chowdepalle mandal, and intimidation from a Tamil Nadu resident targeting 30 families in Mandi Krishnapuram village (Gudipala mandal). A request for the erection of 10 electricity poles to improve power supply in ST hamlets of Thumbakuppam panchayat (Bangarupalem mandal) was also made.

Collector Kumar assured the residents that he would direct officials to conduct inspections and take necessary action. He emphasized the forum’s role in enabling marginalized communities to bring their issues to the government’s attention.
