**Mumbai, India** – Adani Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates, announced a substantial increase in its tax payments for the fiscal year 2023-24. The group reported paying a total of Rs 58,104 crore (approximately $7 billion USD) in taxes, a significant jump from Rs 46,610 crore in the previous fiscal year.

The conglomerate, led by Gautam Adani, released its Tax Transparency Reports, detailing contributions encompassing direct taxes, duties, indirect taxes, and social security contributions. These figures include payments from seven of the group’s listed entities: Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Power, Adani Total Gas, and Ambuja Cements. The total also incorporates taxes paid by NDTV, ACC, and Sanghi Industries, companies held by the seven aforementioned entities.

In a statement, Adani emphasized the group’s commitment to transparency and responsible corporate conduct. He stated that the voluntary release of these reports aims to foster greater stakeholder confidence and set new benchmarks for responsible corporate behavior. The group engaged an independent agency to verify the accuracy of the reported tax contributions.

Adani Group highlighted that this initiative is part of its broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, aiming to harmonize growth with social responsibility. The release of the Tax Transparency Report, while not mandated, reflects a growing trend among forward-thinking companies to proactively disclose their tax contributions to enhance credibility and stakeholder trust.
