Bhagalpur, Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhagalpur today, where he will transfer approximately ₹23,000 crore to 10 crore farmers as the 19th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The visit, taking place during an election year, is expected to see several development projects announced for Bihar.
The Prime Minister’s visit has generated significant enthusiasm among Bhagalpur’s Muslim community, with thousands gathering at the airport to welcome him. Local residents, many dressed in saffron and white, are celebrating with traditional drums and songs, expressing high hopes for development initiatives in the region. Kamaruj Jamal and Shahabuddin, two local residents, stated that approximately 25,000 Muslims from various parts of Bhagalpur are participating in the event, demonstrating widespread support for the Prime Minister.
Before arriving in Bhagalpur, PM Modi will make a brief transit visit to Chunapur military airbase in Purnea, arriving at 1:25 PM and departing for Bhagalpur by helicopter at 1:30 PM. He will return to Chunapur at 4:00 PM to depart for Guwahati at 4:05 PM. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be present to welcome PM Modi. The Prime Minister’s address will focus on the benefits of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and outline future plans for the state.
