**Bhagalpur, Bihar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Bhagalpur, Bihar, where he released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and inaugurated several development projects. He praised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, referring to him affectionately. However, Modi also took a swipe at RJD leader Lalu Yadav over his comments on the Kumbh Mela.
Modi criticized Yadav’s dismissive remarks about the Kumbh Mela, stating that those who deride the event and show disrespect for the Ram Temple will never be forgiven by Bihar. He highlighted the religious and historical significance of the Kumbh Mela, emphasizing the privilege of attending it in Mandarachal.
The Prime Minister emphasized the NDA government’s commitment to farmer welfare, stating that the upliftment of farmers, along with the poor, women, and youth, forms the cornerstone of a developed India. He contrasted the current situation with the past, highlighting improvements in fertilizer availability and the introduction of modern seeds. Modi claimed that without the NDA government, farmers would still be facing shortages and exorbitant prices for essential resources like urea. He asserted that the NDA government ensured uninterrupted fertilizer supplies even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
