**New Delhi, February 23, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme on Monday, February 24th, in Bhagalpur, Bihar. This installment will transfer approximately ₹22,000 crore to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the release, noting that the number of beneficiaries has increased from 9.6 crore in the 18th installment. The PM-Kisan scheme provides each beneficiary with ₹2,000 every four months, totaling ₹6,000 annually in three installments. The scheme, launched in February 2019, is touted as the world’s largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) program. To date, the government has disbursed a total of ₹3.46 lakh crore under PM-Kisan, a figure set to rise to ₹3.68 lakh crore after the 19th installment.
