**Salem, February 23, 2025** – A 24-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway near Vaikundam on Saturday. D. Vignesh, a resident of Neelamangalam, lost control of his vehicle while traveling with a friend, resulting in injuries that proved fatal. His friend, M. Dhanush (21), also sustained injuries. Police have registered a case.
Separately, a government school drawing teacher, Srinivasan (59), was arrested and remanded in prison after three female students accused him of sexual misconduct. The complaint was filed with Kondalampatti All Women’s police on Saturday, leading to his arrest under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The education department has initiated suspension proceedings.
