Sun Feb 23 09:50:22 UTC 2025: ## Modi to Hand Over Social Media Accounts to Women Achievers for International Women’s Day

**New Delhi** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Sunday that he will cede control of his social media accounts to several accomplished women across various fields in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8th. During his monthly “Mann Ki Baat” radio address, Modi stated that these women will utilize his platforms – boasting tens of millions of followers across X, YouTube, and Instagram – to share their experiences and achievements. This initiative echoes a similar gesture from 2020.

Beyond the social media handover, Modi also addressed the growing public health concern of obesity. Citing research indicating a fourfold increase in childhood obesity and a doubling of cases overall in recent years, he urged citizens to reduce their oil consumption by 10%. He initiated a chain challenge, committing to personally requesting 10 individuals to adopt this measure, each of whom would then challenge 10 more. Audio messages from prominent figures, including Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, were played to underscore the importance of combating obesity.

In addition, Modi encouraged participation in National Science Day by urging listeners to spend a day exploring scientific institutions like research labs and planetariums. He also offered words of encouragement to students preparing for board exams, praising the popularity of the “Pariksha Pe Charcha” initiative designed to alleviate exam stress.
