Sun Feb 23 17:41:25 UTC 2025: ## Kohli Shatters Tendulkar’s Record, Powers India to Victory Over Pakistan

**Dubai, UAE:** Virat Kohli etched his name into cricket history on Sunday, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record to become the fastest batter to reach 14,000 ODI runs. The Indian star achieved the milestone in a breathtaking performance against Pakistan during their Champions Trophy clash in Dubai.

Kohli reached the landmark in a mere 287 innings, significantly faster than Tendulkar’s previous record of 350 innings. Only Kumar Sangakkara, with 378 innings, has surpassed 14,000 ODI runs. Kohli’s achievement is even more remarkable as he is the first batter to achieve this feat in under 300 innings. He celebrated the milestone with a boundary off Haris Rauf before going on to score his 51st ODI century, a masterful 100 off 111 balls.

Kohli’s century was instrumental in India’s comfortable six-wicket victory over Pakistan. Chasing a 242-run target, India reached the finish line in 42.3 overs, with key contributions from Shubman Gill (46) and Shreyas Iyer (56). Kuldeep Yadav (3/40) and Hardik Pandya (2/31) starred with the ball, restricting Pakistan to 241 despite a 62-run knock from Saud Shakeel.

The win places India firmly in the driver’s seat for a semi-final berth with two consecutive victories. Pakistan, on the other hand, faces elimination after suffering their second consecutive defeat in the group stage.
