VIJAYAWADA, February 23, 2025 – Four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed to rescue eight workers trapped in a collapsed tunnel in Telangana. The incident occurred Saturday in the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel near Domalapenta village in Nagarkurnool district.

According to NDRF 10th Battalion Commandant V.V.N. Prasanna Kumar, three teams were dispatched from the battalion headquarters in Krishna district, with the Hyderabad Regional Response Centre coordinating the rescue effort. The teams include specialists in collapsed structure and borewell rescues, equipped with necessary tools. Commandant Kumar stated that additional teams are ready for deployment if needed. The rescue operation is ongoing.
