**Bangalore, February 23, 2025** – A Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) subcommittee investigating allegations of malpractice in the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) exam has implicated 10 candidates and criticized the former Commission Secretary, Latha Kumari. The subcommittee’s report, submitted to the state government, alleges that these 10 candidates tampered with their OMR sheets. The report recommends cancelling their appointments and referring the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
The investigation was launched following objections raised by Anand S. Siddareddy regarding the provisional selection list. Despite these objections, Ms. Kumari released the final selection list without the consent of the Commission Chairman and members, a move the subcommittee strongly condemned as a violation of procedure. The subcommittee relied on a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report to conclude that malpractice occurred.
Although the government issued appointment notifications for all 24 selected candidates, it included a clause stating that the appointments were subject to the final decision of the Commission. The subcommittee’s report emphasizes that no posting orders have been issued, likely due to the ongoing inquiry. The subcommittee urged the government to immediately cancel the appointments of the 10 implicated candidates, citing its authority and relevant Supreme Court precedents. This report concludes a three-part series on KPSC exam irregularities.
