**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – February 23, 2025** – The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) announced the launch of a free online artificial intelligence (AI) training program for the public. The four-week “AI Essentials” course aims to equip citizens with the skills to utilize AI tools effectively in their daily lives.
The program, an enhanced version of a previous teacher training module, will cover topics ranging from using AI for daily tasks and social media content creation to applications in art, music, literature, and prompt engineering. It will also address responsible AI practices.
The course features video classes, online resources, and weekly interactive sessions with dedicated mentors for groups of 20 participants. It will be delivered via the KOOL platform, which has previously trained over 50,000 teachers.
Registration is open until March 5th via http://www.kite.kerala.gov.in. The first 2,500 registrants will be accepted into the inaugural batch, commencing March 10th. While the course itself is free, a registration fee of ₹2,360 (including GST) is required and payable online. Successful completion will result in a certificate of completion.
